    Valuation of Early Stage Companies

What is it worth? This is probably the most important question an investor and entrepreneur will ask and answer before executing an investment in a company. The answer often leads to the life or death of a deal.

The determination of the value of a company is as much an art as it is science. Mastering both takes experience and knowledge. Fortunately, the Angel Resource Institute has both.

To help you conquer the ability to properly value early-stage companies, and after completing and founding 50+ angel deals and startups (as well as 4 angel investment groups), renowned angel investor Bill Payne has now developed the Angel Resource Institute workshop, Valuation of Early Stage Companies.

Valuation of Early Stage Companies is designed to present several key methodologies that he and many other experienced angel investors have found as fundamental approaches to properly valuing early-stage companies. They include the Risk Factor Summation Method, Venture Capital Method, and Scorecard Method.

The workshop also presents the importance of portfolio strategies and the role of portfolio returns in the valuation process. Understanding a proper strategy will also help entrepreneurs to properly manage their expectations and gain insight as to why investors value deals the way they do.

Valuation of Early Stage Companies includes energetic presentations, group exercises and case studies. With the right knowledge valuing early stage companies does not have to be difficult and can lead to even greater successful returns.

The Angel Resource Institute has delivered over 400 courses throughout the United States and in almost twenty (20) other countries. ARI believes that education is fundamental to securing a successful early-stage investment. Understanding the fundamentals of how to execute early-stage investment deals, from the perspectives of entrepreneurs and investors, is the key to increasing investment returns, growing successful companies and creating jobs. Our team of experienced instructors have built and sold companies, invested in multiple startups, participate on boards, and each has successfully launched angel funds. Let our team help your ecosystem better understand what it takes to develop a strong entrepreneurial environment.

ARI develops custom entrepreneurial education programs for governments, economic development organizations, and accelerators throughout the world. Send us an RFP or simply use one or more of our current programs. All ARI programs include best-in-class research via our Halo Report™ data program.
